Windows Backup
Situations where people have lost years of work or important documents like databases are common in this new era of technology. Viruses are the main causes of these issues, with programmers creating deadly virus that enter and destroy certain or any file. Others even make duplicates of your files filling you system with copies of the same documents, making them hard to trace. Even so, others can rename your files and change their extensions rendering them unusable. It is this issue of document protection that Windows Backup is recommended. With it, you can store all your useful information in a format that is recognizable to the operating system. This ensures you have your files safe, just in case such viruses hit your computer.

Some files are generally too big to fit in the hard disk taking for example, event photos, music, and movies. These files tend to be very heavy, and with a few of them on your hard disk, you might have no space for normal operation of the OS. Windows backup comes in handy in such situations in keeping your file off the hard disk in a simple and safe way. Unlike in the past where people only had the simple floppy disks that had little memory for storage now there are pieces that will provide you will more than enough memory to store all you want.

The most common storage devices recommended in windows backup are CDs and DVDs. Probably the cheapest storage media you can get, CDs come in different formats. You can get a CD-ROM that means Compact Disc Read Only Memory. A CD-ROM is the commonest of all CDs because of their low prices. Normally, they have a memory capacity of 700MB, which you can use to store photos and MP3 music. Another format of the CD is the Rewritable version of it. Unlike the CD-ROM, this one allows you to write data and you can reuse them by deleting the stored data. Larger quantities of photos and movies can be stored on a larger CD, the DVD. Digital Versatile Discs provide more space for more files with about 4.7GB of memory on them.
Another storage media you can use in windows backup back is the USB Flash Drive. This is the latest of the storage devices providing a wider range of memory with options of writing, rewriting, and deleting data on them. They come in very many shapes and sizes, but most of them are the size of a normal thumb. The smallest you can get offers about 128MB of storage space while some have more than 16GB of storage space. The most important feature about flash disc is that they have a faster data storage rate than the CD, hence you can stored more in a short time. Windows Backup usually offers this as the best option besides using the CD. They are useful when you want to take your large data with you on the road. External hard disks provide larger spaces than the flash, with some latest one holding more than 1TB of data.
